Diet, Calories, and trying to add mass.
« on: April 12, 2012, 08:33:24 PM »

I have been studying and monitering my diet for several months now looking for the "perfect" daily regiment for me. This is how it looks.
Breakfast ~6am  3 whole eggs + 3 egg whites and 1 cup of immitation grape nuts with almond milk. ~750callories, 29g fat, 6g sugar, 102g carb, 45g protien

meal 2 ~10:30am  ~150g grilled chicken breast + ~200g steamed brown rice + some sort of steamed veggie
~600 calories, ? fat, ~50g protien, 0g sugar, ~50g carbs

meal 3 ~2:00pm  Same as meal 2

Gym time at ~3:30-5:00 and after gym shake with ~120 calories 5g creatine and ~25g whey

meal 4 ~6:00pm usally something in the same area as meal 2 +3.

Meal 5 ~10:00pm casien shake ~ 110 calories ~25g protien

Comes to ~2780 calories, ~245g protien, ~250g of carbs (i need to remeasure because im thinking this number looks low) for the day.

Current stats are 6' tall ~195 body weight. BMI is probably a little high. I think i could easily stand to trim down to 185 by shedding belly fat. Ultimate goal is to obviousely be a strong as possible but i'd really like to have my BMI at almost 0 and have a body weight of 200lbs. Should i be eating more and more often?? I always feel that i am gorging myself on this diet as it is now.
Thanks!!

What are imitation grape nuts? Is that the store brand?  Everything looks good but maybe if you lower some carbs you will lose some fat. I've been telling you that. You need to go down to lean out to 185. Better to be 185 and looked ripped than 200 and smooth with fat around the midsection. I've just started a low carb deal. Hopefully this will get me where i need to be.

Yes, they are the publix brand 'grape nuts'.

Same thing and like what $1 less right. So what's the plan for your diet? Are you going to try to lose some fat and look ripped at 185?

I'm certainly trying to trim fat away and need to clean up my diet a little. Leaning down to 185 would fit more as a short term goal but ultimately I would be happier at ~200lbs and super lean. Im thinking maybe I should try to get a little more protein in per day.

To do that lean out to 185 and then work your way back up to 200.

I am trying to refine my diet to cut out all the sugar and as much of the fat as possible. I also have set a goal to get more cardio in. It's proving tough to get away from the occasional soda but I am confident that they wreck my diet even though I only have soda once or twice a week. Weighed in at 195 today.

I don't really care for any of the diet or zero calorie drinks. I need just step up and cut them out all together. I have them cut down to one or two a week so it's much better than it used to be.

One or two a week aint bad. Does that mean you are drinking water the rest of the time. Orange juice is bad news too. Nothing but sugar. I love OJ but was finally able to cut it out completely 3 1/2 weeks ago. Although I did it in stages. For the past year I was drinking a 1:1 ratio of water and OJ. I'd fill half the glass with water and the other have with OJ. I was drinking it like that for over a year. Probably made coming off it completely 3 1/2 weeks ago a lot easier.

I did not know that OJ was so bad for you until tonight. I love OJ but I only drank it with breakfast, looks like that is gone  :(. I just recently started drinking a hot glass of green tea without any sweetener. It taste bitter and I am not a huge fan, but I read that it is really good for you so I drink a glass with every meal. The rest of the day I drink water with the exception of the glass of OJ with breakfast that is now going to be replaced with a glass of green tea>

That's pretty good. You just need to cut out processed carbs and white starchy vegetables

Alan you can add sucralose to your tea to sweeten it. but stay away from aspartame. even though its not sugar they it is believed it may still spike insulin levels which causes your body to store sugar as fat. Yea bro read the label on the OJ carton. Nothing but sugar and lots of it.

I was getting tricked by the "fruit juice" also. i finally figured it out after noting that i'd be 2-4 pounds heavy on moday weigh in only on the weekends that i would endulge in my choice alcoholic beverage, vodka and oj(or any kind of fruit juice). I finally looked at the labels on all those drinks and found out that they are LOADED with sugar and so was the flavored alcohol. Talk about a sneak attack on your diet program  :o :o
