dropping weight without losing muscle

For everyone that knows me I have a decent size gut. I just recently started the body by vi shakes and was curious if anyone else takes them. My questiin is if you have or are drinking the shakes, how much weight have you lost and if you lost strength? I am 240 pounds now and want to fight at 205 so I can be the bigger guy instead of the fatter guy.

Be sure to take in at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight each day and you wont lose any muscle. Since you want to be 205 get at least 205 grams a day.  If you were trying to build muscle then you would want to consume at least 1.5 grams or protein per lb of body weight a day and some resistance training. If you've replaced a crappy meal with that shake them I'm sure your getting more protein from the shake than from the meal. So you're good there. The problem is when many people go on a reduced calorie diet their protein intake also goes down and although they lose fat they also lose muscle.

How many grams a day are you getting now? Or have you never kept track of that?
