I've recently started my Muay Thai training at my BJJ gym. We have an extremely talented coach who just returned from a tourney in NYC; which he won.

I'm glad my gym is offering a stand up as well as the BJJ. Even though I'm not really training to be a pro-fighter at this point, I like to think that being well rounded even for every day life is important.

I tell you, I'm very impressed with the style and the conditioning + skill it takes to go round after round.

It is at least once a week that a new guy comes in and starts hitting the bags but within a few minutes he or she is gasping for air. Then the excuses start flying, hahaha my favorite one is "you didnt tell me not to eat a full meal." CWH you are correct that muay thai and some jits will make you well rounded. Nothing is better then when your foot connects with the back of someones kneck.
